Our microsatellites are compact and lightweight. Perfect for rideshare compatibility with an EELV Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA) ring for affordable access to space. Launch ride-sharing keeps our mission costs low, allowing us to pass savings on to our customers.

  • Very affordable
  • Flexible launch agreements
  • Frequent access to space
  • Record selected deployments via video camera

Umbra’s unique approach balances size, volume and power while conforming to a microsatellite form factor. This means higher quality images at a lower price point for your SAR data services and analytics.

  • Precision orbit control
  • Worldwide coverage
  • Affordable pricing
  • Very high-resolution (.25 meters) spotlight imaging in a single look

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is a form of radar imaging that is used to create two or three dimensional images. Similar to a camera flash, SAR actively illuminates a scene and can generate images through clouds, smoke, fog and in total darkness.

  • > 10 m2 (square meter) deployable antenna
  • > 60% Efficiency
  • > 1200 MHz Bandwidth
  • > 500w peak power

A scalable constellation size supports high revisit rates. As our customers create new analytics solutions derived from our SAR data we will rapidly grow capacity to meet their demand. Average revisits on the order of an hour are achievable with 12 satellites while maintaining 0.5 meter resolution (NESZ ≤ -18 dB/NIIRS-6)

  • Unprecedented daily/hourly access to areas of interest
  • A single satellite provides access to important areas of interest daily
  • Payload performance allows for high off-NADIR imaging reducing time to access and improved layover

Active illumination produces images that are not constrained by the lighting and environmental conditions that limit optical satellites. Image orders are collected and distributed to customers in a timely and predictable manner.

  • Direct user access
  • Flexible taking with real-time feedback
  • Tasking by Radar-NIIRS
  • Apply constraints on geometry & time
  • Process to CPHD, SICD or SIDD
